Just when your marketing plan is in place and things are running smoothly – along comes a UFO! No, not the flying saucer kind, but an unforeseen occurrence that can make you feel like you’re lost in space!

The health care galaxy holds all kinds of meteoric challenges that stem from economic crisis, reform debate, new technology, consumer attitudes and behaviors, and even the way health care is packaged and delivered that have created an uncertain future for marketing and communications professionals.

But with the right tools and information – from marketing and communications to social media and leadership skills – you can dodge these obstacles and position your mothership (and yourself!) for any cosmic event that comes your way.

You can still download a copy of the conference agenda and speaker bios, and we’ll soon post individual presentation files for attendees and MHSCN members alike to download — watch for an email notice or check back to this post. You can also check out a Facebook photo album from the event (thanks to Susan Fuglem for providing these images).

Then, put on your boots and hardhats for a guided tour of Owatonna’s new hospital, scheduled to open in 2009. Spend the afternoon learning how Mayo Clinic has incorporated social networking sites like Facebook and Myspace into its web strategy. Finally, celebrate Minnesota’s sesquicentennial and win great prizes with a Minnesota trivia contest!
