If you were not already aware of this, following the school calendar the MHSCN membership year runs from September to August. There is some sense in that approach as our services for communications, marketing and planning professionals are primarily educational. We need to further explain the membership renewal process.

If you are paying online to renew your membership, you do not have to fill out the online application. Simply click “resources” on the top navigation bar and choose “online payment”. Add the Individual Annual Membership to your cart.

Once you check out using the online payment system, a message will be sent to one of our board members identifying you with the email address used when you checked out. You can still use a corporate credit card to make the payment. Click here to renew your membership today.

With the exit of Andrew Meyer from healthcare, MSCHN has a new webmaster, Shelly Pauling, Education & Communications Manager from the Redwood Area Hospital. Shelly has been a board member representing Region 5 since 2005 and has spent the last year building the Redwood Area Hospital website www.redwoodareahospital.org from scratch using Front Page (I know some of you don’t like FP, but she loves it!).

A great value has now become an even greater value. The Minnesota Health Strategy & Communications Network (MHSCN) Board of Directors has reduced the 2007-08 membership dues to $25.

While reducing the individual membership fee, the board also eliminated the group discount process, which proved to be the cause of confusion for many. The $25 individual fee is affordable to all whether your membership is paid by your employer or you pay it yourself. And it’s easy to pay online with the new PayPal/credit card option.

Your current membership ends on August 31, so be proactive and renew today. Simply log on to mhscn.com with your e-mail address and password, then update your member profile. Select payment option. You can also download a printable form, which can serve as your payment receipt. You may also use this form to list other members included in your payment and then e-mail or send the form to Jenny Sanislo at Minnesota Hospital Association [address is on the form].

You can’t get much these days for $25, but at MHSCN, it buys you a year-long membership with cutting-edge programs, great website and newsletter, and fantastic networking opportunities. Don’t delay….renew today!
